Apple just upgraded the M4 MacBook Air with the more powerful M5 version, and the new and improved MacBook Air now includes a more powerful charger in the box.
Customers can still opt for other options, but the standard charger has improved
All configurations of M5 MacBook Air come bundled with Apple’s 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max that the company introduced in September alongside the iPhone 17 Pro.
Apple previously included either the 30W USB-C Power Adapter or 35W Dual USB-C Port Compact Power Adapter, depending on the MacBook Air configuration.
When configuring a build-to-order M5 MacBook Air, however, customers can still opt for the 35W Dual USB-C Port Compact Power Adapter for $20 more (not a great value), or the 70W USB-C Power Adapter for $20 more (which unlocks fast charging up to 50% in 30 minutes).
Apple also sells each of the power adapters separately, but M5 MacBook Air customers will have a better bundled option when the new machines officially launch next week.
